Sahan is the only matchmaking app that lets you formally involve your Islamic guardian. Your Wali receives a link via email, creates their account on this website, and can view your matches and conversations from the app whenever you choose to share them.
Setting up your Wali takes less than two minutes.
Go to Settings and tap "My Wali Details".
Add your Wali’s name, relationship (father, brother, uncle), phone, and email.
Your Wali gets an email with a link to create their account on the Sahan website.
When you match with someone, you decide whether to share that match with your Wali.
If someone has invited you as their guardian, here is what to do.
The email explains who has invited you and includes a link to create your Wali account.
Click the link in the email to create your account on the Sahan website. You just need an email and password.
Download the Sahan app and sign in. You will see your Wali Dashboard where you can view shared matches and conversations.
Every Wali invitation generates a unique link and code in the format WALI-XXXX-XXXX. The Wali receives an email with a direct link to create their account on the Sahan website.
No app download is needed to create the account. The Wali clicks the link, enters their email and password, and their account is automatically linked to the person who invited them.
If the Wali signs up with the same email address that was used in the invitation, the link happens automatically. The code is a safety net for cases where the emails do not match.
Your Wali has view access to the matches you choose to share. They never act on your behalf.
See the full profile of anyone you have matched with and chosen to share.
Messages sent after you share a match are visible to your Wali. Nothing retroactive.
Your Wali gets notified when you share a new match so they can follow along.
With full visibility, your Wali can advise you privately, outside the app.
Your Wali only sees what you choose to share. You decide which matches to include and you can revoke access at any time. They cannot send messages, like profiles, or take any action on your behalf.
This is about accountability and family involvement, the way our culture has always approached marriage. Sahan just makes it possible within the app instead of outside it.
